WRITING: AN ARTICLE ABOUT A PLACE AND ITS HISTORY

LONDON

London is a city in the south east of England. Its name was Londinium in Roman times. The population in Roman Times was about 45,000 people. The population is about 7,5 million now.
There are places in London with the names of important people in history: Trafalgar Square commemorates the battle of Trafalgar. Victoria Street commemorates Queen Victory.
The people of London are called Londoners or Cockneys. Famous Londoners include Charlie Chaplin and Arthur Conan Doyle. Charles Chaplin was an actor. Arthur Conan Doyle was a writer of Sherlock Holmes stories.
